HeadOverSneakers

Last Monday, February 20, 2012, was Family Day in Canada. The whole family decided to go to Kelso and have my cousin, Andre, experience Skiing. Since it was Family Day, and we got there during the afternoon, the place was full of people and there was already a long line outside the area where you pay and rent for skiing gears.

While we all wait for Andre to start, the rest of us posed and took pictures in front of the skiing slope. As my family and I are first timers, you could probably imagine how much photos we took. *cough* 120+ *cough* :)) And of course, the parents had to do the obligatory both-hands-raised poses. Since I have nothing else to do, no matter how embarrassing it was, I joined them in doing those usual Filipino, obviously-tourists poses. I can post those pictures but I won’t. They must stay hidden and unexposed in our hard disk, forever. muwahaha.

Yah, so instead, here’s a few of the good shots:

Finally, after 10000 years, Andre got his skiing gear. This four-year old boy is really good in balancing and is unbelievably brave. After he was thought of the basics, he was brought right on top of the slope and slowly, together with his instructor, he skied down. Even though he was still nervous, (Whenever the instructor let go of his grip, he slides a few inches and hugs the instructor’s leg again. hihihi. so cute.) he was able to go up and slide down for a number of times. This is amazing for a boy his age. ;)

While Andre was skiing, the rest of us watched him and snacked on the place’s famous Funnel Fries. It was so good that we attacked them as soon as we bought them. Hence, there is not a single picture of it. :)) While we were there too, there was this business man who was endorsing a drink. I think it’s flavored vitamin water. Then, he was blasting music to get the people’s attention. Fortunately, when we got near his area, the song that was playing was, “I’m Sexy and I Know It.” When it was on that part when the lyrics was just, “wiggle, wiggle, wiggle” he started singing on his microphone while wiggling his butt. We were concerned for the man and for Andre that’s why we immediately covered his eyes. We don’t want him to witness such scene. :)) Soon, the man made it up for the trauma he caused everyone by giving away the product he’s advertising, for free. :D

After skiing, a little party was held at home and few of our relatives’ friends came. They brought so much food, which is great since it’s no family day without filling our tummies with food. :) Overall, our first Family Day here in Canada was fun and we were all able to experience something new.

There’s no better way to end a post than posting an obligatory solo picture so, here ya go. haha..

  • At school last Wednesday, I finished two exams. I aced the easy peasy English test and got everything right except for that one confusing question which only I, in our class, didn’t get. :)) The other one’s our frikkin’ long Food and Nutrition Test. I don’t know how I did in that one but I’m sure my grade in that class won’t be that bad. ;)

  • When I got home that day, I immediately changed into the comfiest pajamas I have and procrastinated all night long. :> I watched my shows and caught up with the new Filipino dramas on TFC. I had no classes the next day that is why. ;)
  • Yesterday, I finished my Science exam. Everyone found it easy. It was also my last exam and since it’s Friday, my friends and I decided to celebrate by eating out and going to Milton Mall.

  • We were all craving for different foods so we had to go to a number of stores to get the food we want. I bought a burrito for myself because my Mexican side is dying for a food from it’s nation. :> Then, we had to walk for 1-15 mins. to Milton Mall, where we all savored our early lunch.
  • On our way to the Mall, my friend and I made a scene. We slid down the little hump of land in front of Bulk Barn because of the snow. :))) It was hilarious though. I slid and when I was trying to stand up, I slid again and ended up in a ninja-like pose. haha.
  • Had a fun conversation with my friends during the meal which totally reminded me of the times I had with my friends back in the Philippines. I used to go out with them too after exams. I miss them but I’m happy as well that I finally got myself friends here too. I feel like I’m not the “new girl” anymore. :)
  • After lunch, we went store hopping and checked out clothes. We went to Stitches and here’s what I found out:

  • How did I know that? because I tried some on. :) Yeah, I did because they’re so cheap and cute. They look small but when I tried them, they actually fit me. hihihi. My friends and I tried on clothes which was fun. Even though I wanted to buy one of the ones I chose, I wasn’t able to because we were running out of time. We had to catch the 2:45 bus at school and at 2:10, we were still at the mall.
  • And so we speed-walked back to school. It was so tiring but that day was actually so much fun besides the fact that I wasn’t exactly prepared for the walk, it was snowing, we didn’t have the whole day to spend, and my friend and I almost missed our bus.
  • When we got in front of the school where our bus is usually is, we saw our bus on it’s way on the main road and we started running like mad to catch it. :)) Fortunately, someone we know was inside it and told the bus driver to stop. I ran and walked pretty long that day. I finally exercised after being a couch potato for days! :>

And that’s how we epicly end a stressful exam week. ;) Kudos.

I’m officially done with my first semester exams! :> yay. Exams weren’t that hard yet I still doubt I got everything right. I’ll get the results this Thursday but for now until Wednesday, I’m free from having to wake up early in the morning, walk down crowded hallways, and think of interesting conversations with people I barely know. I get to stay home and hang out with my best friends a.k.a my books and the laptop. :> The long weekend continues on Friday until January 5th. Who’s your lucky girl? ;)
First semester was greater than what I expected and I’m thankful for that. It’s sad though that it has to end now that I’m pretty comfortable with most of my classmates. Well as the saying goes, all good things come to an end, yet this could be happening for the better. :) Looking forward to a new semester at BR!

Dear Chums and Chumettes,

I’ll like to do this as vair vair amusing as Georgia Nicolson does her letters yet I’m pretty sure I’ll fail. Might as well save myself from embarrassment. :)) Just want to say that for the next couple of weeks I’ll be busy studying for culminating activities and exam week and I’ll have my nose stuck in my Keep Calm binders therefore, I might not update my bloggy for quite a while. I’ll try my best to procrastinate though and check Tumblr at least once, everyday. ;) I’ll miss you my online pals but for now, my dear Scrump pencil case will keep me company. I wish everyone good luck with their Periodical Exams and may you all have a fabbity fab fab week. ♥

These are two of some of the books I read during the winter break. They what stopped me from dying from boredom during those weeks and they kind of brought me somewhere else when in reality, I was just stuck in my bedroom and came out whenever there’s food. :))

The first one I finished was Crescendo, the sequel to Hush, Hush. And just like the first book, this one left me hanging. If I’m keeping a list of all the biggest cliffhanger books, this one will immediately make the top spot. Though I found this a bit boring compared to the first, maybe because there are less Patch & Nora moments, it’s still good and the ending was quite unexpected. I never knew a lot of things could happen in a short course of time, or in this case, a single book. I definitely can’t wait to have book 3, Silence, on the palm of my hands.

Princess Diaries book 5. This book of the series was, how could I describe this? hmm… probably something a high school teenager in a relationship may like. ;) Mia had troubles in this book which I quite wasn’t able to relate to because I’m forever alone but I enjoyed it nonetheless. One less book towards my goal to read all Meg Cabot’s novels! :>

Besides these, I also finished the books, “Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers,” and “Pretty Little Liars.” Right now, I’m reading “The Secret Circle,” “Stop in the Name of Pants,” and “Party Princess,” book 7 of Princess Diaries. :>

Crazy Love for Rolls

Tonight, the whole family went to Aji-sai to celebrate my mom and dad’s and my aunt and uncle’s wedding anniversaries and my mom’s and lola’s birthdays. There are a lot of occasions so we decided to celebrate them all once with a night of endless order of Japanese food! :> The parents know our weakness. My cousin and I are supposed to study for culminating week yet we immediately left our notes for sushi, especially Aji-sai’s. We first went there last January 3 of this year and we almost didn’t leave. :))

Last time we went there, it was lunch time and they only served limited meals. So, I was pretty excited for the dinner menu. When we arrived in the sushi place, I shouted, “Let the Hunger Games begin!” and my cousin hummed “Eye of the Tiger.” :))

The place offers over a hundred meals hence, my cousin, sister, and I decided to add in our bucket list to eat all hundred. haha. ;) Here’s how the dinner menu looks like:

Tonight, we were able to taste a lot of their meals. I once again ordered my favorite Shrimp Tempura Roll then, we had the couples taste the one called “Crazy Love Roll” (Hence, the title of this post.) Honestly, the name of Aji-sai’s special rolls are amusing they make you want to order everything. Few of the other rolls we had are the Dynamite, TNT, and California Rolls. :>

We also tried their Chicken and Beef Teriyaki, BBQ Beef Ribs, and some Squid dish which name I forgot. :)) They’re all so good and definitely satisfied our tummies but of course, though we were full with the tepanyaki meals, we always have space for desserts. We were able to taste their Cheese cake, Mango Pudding, Fried Banana with Ice Cream, and Egg Pudding! yum.

One satisfied customer right here! ;) Seriously, if I could live in this place, I will. I’ll never get bored with Japanese food. I less than 3 it. :>

Look who I’ll be spending the whole night with.. Yes, my Science and English binder. I hate it when none of my teachers give homework on a certain day then, they decide to give them all on the next. -.- I was procrastinating last night because I had nothing to do but tonight, I got loads!
For culminating on ESL, I have to make paragraphs on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s life. We have to make a report on a famous Canadian person and Maud Montgomery is one. She is the author of the classic, Anne of Green Gables. My friend is doing one on Justin Bieber. :)) I might help her on her report by bringing my singing JB toothbrush. (My aunt gave me one for Christmas. It plays U Smile & Baby for 2 min. haha.)
I also have to finish a sheet for Science. It’s about the planets which is quite interesting but I have to fill up fact tables on each of them and draw them. :/
Lastly, I must finish the sheet on body image for ESL. This lesson’s pretty great. We talked about how the society’s perception of beauty greatly changed from past centuries until now. ;)
I could feel it once again. Hell week. This week, we’re starting culminating on few of my subjects already and in 3 weeks, exam week will start. But ACSci thought me a lot on surviving this so-called hell week already. I know I’ll get over this. I will survive. :> Go Cam. Fight!
